A tree-lined avenue crosses the ancient walls of Badia di Campoleone, an 18th-century residence built on the remains of the Abbey of San Gennaro. The villa, an architectural masterpiece recently restored, welcomes its guests into 22 frescoed suites and 13 garden suites housed in the former stables.
At the heart of a vast 370-hectare estate, among Chianti DOCG vineyards and olive groves, Badia di Campoleone expresses a refined and authentic Tuscany. Available exclusively for private and corporate events.
from MEDIEVAL ABBEY to NOBLE VILLA
Originally an imposing Lombard stronghold, Campus Leonis was chosen in 997 by Count Ugo, Marquess of Tuscany, as the site of the Benedictine Abbey of Campoleone. During the communal period, it suffered repeated attacks and was partly destroyed in 1527 by the army of Duke Charles of Bourbon. The Marquis-Abbots Della Stufa later oversaw its reconstruction.
In 1727, the noble Bacci family inherited the estate and began the construction of a “villa deliziosa” on the abbey’s ruins. Before the early 2000s, the property was sold and, under the current ownership, the entire complex and its agricultural estate were meticulously restored, bringing Campoleone back to life.

THE PRIVATE CHURCH
From the villa, guests have direct access to the Church. Its sober and harmonious architecture, enriched by 16th-century stone details, suggests an elegant wedding ceremony and is formally authorised for civil rites. Today dedicated exclusively to secular use, the Church can be transformed into a scenographic space for events with a contemporary character.
THE SWIMMING POOL AND TENNIS COURT
From the first light of morning until sunset, the swimming pool, set within the park’s lawn, enjoys the best natural light. Upon request, the Pool Bar Pavilion can serve fine cocktails and light refreshments. Just a few steps away, a multi-purpose court suitable for five-a-side football and tennis.
THE ITALIAN GARDEN
Designed according to geometric principles, the Italian-style gardens create a natural link between the villa and the park. Sculpted hedges and ordered perspectives accompany guests on pleasant walks and quiet moments outdoors; the Italian garden also becomes the setting for moving ceremonies and lively aperitifs.
THE MEETING ROOM
The meeting room, housed within the villa’s ancient Church, can accommodate up to 70 people. It features naturally excellent acoustics, ideal for concerts and conferences, and is equipped with a microphone, stereo sound system and video projector. An adjacent lounge area with bar facilities and direct access to the garden is also available.
THE RESTAURANT
Badia di Campoleone ensures an excellent culinary experience, distinguished by high-quality ingredients and accompanied by impeccable service and mise en place. The restaurant offers Tuscan and Italian traditional cuisine and, upon request, provides menus tailored to specific dietary requirements and to the culinary traditions of different parts of the world.
THE WINE CELLAR
The wine cellar, composed of two large vaulted rooms and a small secret chamber for the finest labels, maintains a constant temperature ideal for wine storage. A convivial space where excellent glasses can be enjoyed, accompanied by locally sourced delicacies.
THE OSTERIA
A 16th-century fireplace dominates the villa’s kitchen, the Osteria. With the arrival of the winter winds, the ever-burning fire accompanies the rituals of Tuscan tradition: bread with the estate’s new olive oil, Novello wine, and “Chianina,” a prized veal variety, grilled over glowing embers at an open grill. An intimate and welcoming space, expressing an authentic Tuscan spirit.
THE BILLIARD ROOM
Located immediately next to the villa’s Bar and set within the Benedictine apse, the billiard room was an essential element of a vision in which guests’ enjoyment and social interaction were central from the outset.

In the morning, the villa comes to life with a refined breakfast buffet, while coffee is served in the fragrant shade of the Italian-style garden. Bar service within the villa is always available upon request and tailored to guests’ needs. The summer Bar Pavilion can also provide an exclusive aperitif service, with professional bartenders and a curated cocktail selection, upon request.

UNDERSTATED ELEGANCE and MODERN COMFORT
From the very beginning of the restoration, the owning family’s vision was to preserve the essence of the noble villa, maintaining its original layout and generously proportioned rooms beyond contemporary standards. For this reason, each accommodation differs in shape and spatial arrangement; the furnishings—unique restored pieces—were personally selected in the Arezzo area, renowned for hosting Italy’s oldest Antiques Fair.
